Forestry

The forestry operation of the Fischhorn estate covers a total of 1,208 hectares of forest. In close cooperation with forestry, hunting and pasture management, we establish the forest areas of our forestry operation with site-appropriate coniferous/mixed deciduous forests and thus create healthy, stable and diverse forests that fulfil economic and ecological goals and are adapted to climate change.

Management is carried out in close co-operation with scientific institutions and the local forestry authorities. In particular, the reforestation with a coordinated hunting concept after the windthrow in 2002 and the beetle infestation in the following years has attracted a great deal of attention both nationally and internationally.
